The Famous Batangas Bulalo


Batangas is definitely one of the places to visit this coming holy week. Not only because they have their beautiful beaches that not that far from Manila and mostly because of their famous cuisine the “BULALO”.

Bulalo is native to the province of Batangas. Batangas roads are lined with restaurants and carinderia’s with bulalo as their specialty. Maybe because Batangas has many beef cattle ranching industry or the cattle raising region and the main ingredients of bulalo are beef bone marrow and beef shank with meat.

The beef shank is cook for several hours until the meat is fork-tender. Bulalo are made onions, garlics, cobs of corn, potatoes, Baguio beans, saging na saba and cabbage. Bulalo is best serve hot with plain rice and fish sauce and siling labuyo for dip. It is best complemented by the marrow that is tapped out of the bone.

Bulalo became a traveller’s favorite food to eat when going to Batangas, Ibang klase talaga ang panlasa ng mga pinoy.

Kapeng Barako sa Batangas


Coffee for the filipino specially in the Province of Batangas – ay the best! hindi na mawawala sa panlasa ng pinoy! Ala eh, Kung wala ang kapeng barako pano nalaang ang agahan at meryenda sa buong Pilipinas nagmula man ito sa probinsya ng Batangas pero tinatangkilik pa din sa buong mundo.

"kapeng barako" is commonly known in Philippine colloquial tongue inihahantulad ito sa tapang ng isang lalake, ngunit mabait, may respeto sa kapwa, responsable at talaga namang maasahan sa lahat ng bagay, kapeng barako is not a common coffee variety, although it is abundant in southeast asia especially in the Philippines it has the largest beans of all the coffee varieties. Kapeng barako is a home roasted coffee, it is the most popular in Batangas, Philippines coffee variety as of the present era, the Philippines is one of the few countries which produces the four varieties of coffee beans.
